SGV: Yo Braydon, the SGV's nickname for you is RAD PITT. can you feel that?
BRAYDON: Wow... I don't know dude. that's a little shocking/funny. I like the comic aspect of it, but I don't like being compared to that fuck piece of shit. But then again, his chick situation is amazing! I would do anything to fuck Angelina Jolie... Wuuuuuhaaaa!!!
SGV: Just run up on her and say you're Brad.
BRAYDON: Oh yeah, like, "Hi, I'm Brad Pitt's twin brother, but I'm kind of the left out one. I'm the one that the mom just hated on. everyone pushed me aside when Brad got famous."
SGV: you're on Baker, which is definitely one of the craziest teams out there. you chose to stay with Baker as an AM when I'm sure you could have gone PRO on some other company. what does loyalty mean to you?
BRAYDON: the fact of the matter is that there are a lot of pro skaters out there that just followed the money and rode for whoever paid them the most at the time. Kenny Anderson (CHOCOLATE SKATEBOARDS) taught me how to skate, and he also taught me to always stick with shit till it's over with. And Kenny stuck with Planet Earth Skateboards from '91 till they went out of business. He was getting offers from everyone and people were telling him to leave Earth... even the owner of Earth told Kenny that he should probably just leave and take a better offer. but Kenny was like, naw. Thats how I've always felt too, I'm with Baker till death. They were the first ones to give me love and they treat me like a person, not like a piece of shit. Of course I'm gonna give them respect for life. I will be with Baker for as long as they will have me. thats just how it is
SGV: You come from Vegas, a city that has produced a lot of really talented skaters. what is the scene like in Vegas compared to Los Angeles?
BRAYDON: Las Vegas and LA are kinda similar to me. neither of us had skateparks until just recently. It was like as soon as I moved out of Vegas all these skateparks started popping up. we grew up skating shit... like shocking spots. same thing in LA, they just started building skateparks in the past couple years. before that we just had the streets. so when I came out here 5 years ago I was like; this feels normal... you go out and skate and handle your biz, and you skate just streetspots or you don't skate at all. And I'm always down to skate above not skating. so I just look at Vegas and LA as almost the same vibe... except that there are way more hot women out here.
SGV: Really? you think so?
BRAYDON: dude, you know what? you might see all these WILD ON E!'s in Vegas and they make it seem like its all that. I lived in Vegas my whole life and I've been to the same clubs and its never like that. Los Angeles has hot women. you dont' drive around Vegas and just see hot women all over the place during the day. out here you can just get on the bus and see some hot women. they're everywhere... at all times too. Just look at where we're at right now... she's hot, she's hot, she's hot, she's hot, she's hot. I'd fuck her, and her, and her... you know what I'm saying? there's so many hot women right here in this club... and we're in the smoking section, not even inside the club.
SGV: all your sponsors are top notch. what is the pressure like being an amateur vs. being pro?
BRAYDON: I don't really know yet, I've only been pro for a month. you know what the weird thing is? I kick it and skate with the sickest pros, they're all my crew. to me it's like I never really knew the difference. I was older than most amateurs and didn't really think about it. I just knew I was AM and I really didn't care, and nobody else around me seemed like they really cared. now that I'm pro they congratulate me and I'm one of them, but it doesn't really change much. we still all kick it like we did before I was pro. maybe the money situation might be a little different, but thats about it.
SGV: can't hate on that.
BRAYDON: nobody can hate on money. the only people that hate on money have too much.
SGV: what pro skater were you just really psyched on meeting for the first time?
BRAYDON: Tom Penny of course. my whole life I never gave a shit who you were. I try to treat people the same, but the 2 people that I got starstruck over were Ozzy and Tom Penny. when we were young Me and Erik (Hamamoto) used to make Tom Penny tapes. we made one that was 22 minutes of pure Tom Penny footage. we would watch that everyday before we went skating. the reason I do kickflips all day long is because I'm obsessed with Tom Penny's kickflips. I met him a couple years ago at the very first KREW demo that I knew he was gonna be at. when me and Erik heard about it we got all excited and shit. we had to smoke a bowl to calm down. I just had to make sure we didn't look like some craze muh'fuckas. when we saw him in person our jaws both dropped. I just wanted to see him do a kickflip on flat and a frontside flip on flat. it's crazy, because now I skate with him. I call him on the phone and stuff... kinda feels weird. I have Tom Pennys number?!
