you don't have to be a fashion nerd to know that LRG is a huge entity right now, and their presence can't be denied. Meet Vince Domingo, it's his job to make sure you know about LRG Clothing and the LRG skate program. and it looks like he's doing a kick ass job. your boy Vince agreed to bless the SGV site with some lessons. so kids, read on and study shit.

SGV: for the patrons of the SGV site, would you please give us the basic 411 on Vincent Domingo?
Vince: I'm Vincent Domingo. I work for LRG Clothing Company. I do marketing and I manage the skateboard team. I do everything skateboard related for LRG.

SGV: How would you describe the image of LRG?
Vince: the image of LRG is just us; the people that work there. we direct the whole company's image. what we like, we do, and that's who we are. we're not gonna fake the funk and pretend we're someone else. LRG is real.

SGV:
the game is crazy right now. what do you think is gonna happen next?
Vince: it's hard to say. fashion trends come and go and it's hard to predict anything that fashion is gonna do. we just do stuff at LRG that we like and hopefully people will like it too.

SGV:
as far as the design process of LRG, do you have any input on that?
Vince: yeah, but I can't be giving our secrets away.

SGV: ok, without giving away any secrets, what moves do you think LRG made to get to the level it's at right now?
Vince: basically it's all passion. we're driven by passion, that's what we're all about. and we're not worried to say that we're all homies we're all friends. nobody came from a classified ad. it's all homies. we all have the same drive. that's what I think has made LRG what it is now.

SGV:
so how did you get in where you fit in? how did you get your job?
Vince: this guy Lawrence Phan right here (pointing to his homie) was in line to get my job, but he decided to quit and go to school so I got dropped into the position and did the best I can and worked it the way I work it.

SGV:
the game is crazy competitive nowadays. there are gangs of little indie companies out there trying to make noise. along with all the competition comes a lot of people talking shit. you guys are a main target just because of how huge you are. how do you guys walk the fine line between staying true to your vision but at the same time making money?
Vince: that's a really hard one to answer because in order to survive in the game you don't have to necessarily sellout, but you have to be aware of the trends that are going on right now. that way you get a group of people to look at you and love what you do and are willing to follow you. it's like you get the masses... get them involved in what you're trying to do and then you show them. you show them your direction.

SGV:
the skate scene has always been made up of hardcore loyalists... purists. as the team manager of the LRG skate team how are you making LRG a relevant name in the skate world?
Vince: the thing is that even before I got brought on board we had a skate team. we been around for 6 years, and for the past 5 years we've had a skate team. like Karl (Watson) has been on the team since day one. we always had a foundation built for skateboarding. I just have to show people that LRG is still doing our thing in skateboarding. we're still into skateboarding and we still wanna give respect and be a part of this tightknit skateboard community because that's what it's all about. we can't have some random corporate company come in and pretend that they're down for skateboarding. they can't pull it off, they can't do it. LRG is a tight little family and I know that we've always been a part of it (skateboarding), but I just wanna show more people that we really are involved.

SGV:
what's on the horizon for the LRG skate program?
Vince: right now we're about to come out with a skate video. it's hard for me to expect a 14-18 year old kid to buy some expensive ass LRG gear, but I wanna show that we got love for those younger kids. so what we're doing is putting out this skate video to make it more appealing to them. that way they can see what LRG is about thru the skateboard scene. I want them to know who Karl Watson is. I want them to know who Adelmo Jr. is. I want them to know Chico, Rob G, and Jack Curtain. those guys are family... that's LRG right there.

SGV:
shout outs?
Vince: I'd like to shout out everyone that's helped me in the struggle. I'd like to shout out Stevie Williams. he's been a mentor to me, he's given me direction as far as what to do with skateboarding. same with Kent at FTC, same with Chico (Brenes) and the whole skate team, and same with Mike Mihaly from The Skateboard Mag. all those guys have helped me to do what i'm doing right now. we're on the map right now because of those guys.

in case you've been living underneath a rock since 2000 and aren't familiar with LRG and their line of fine goods then you need to do some homework. start by clicking the link below
